I am a software engineer and HCI researcher with more than a dozen years of experience designing and developing software in top R&D labs. I am currently a core team member of the Center for Innovation in Visual Analytics, part of IBM Research's Business Analytics and Mathematical Sciences group, where my research focuses on the use of information visualization, analytics, and collaboration to produce actionable insights from both structured and unstructured data. I am also a member of IBM's Center for Social Business.
Before joining IBM, I was a Member of Technical Staff in the Software Group at Epson Research & Development, where I worked on IMX, an advanced desktop videoconferencing system. Prior to that, I spent two years as a Research Fellow at Media Lab Europe, a spin-off of the MIT Media Lab in Dublin, Ireland, where I investigated novel technologies for informal learning environments.
I have a B.S. degree in Mathematics with Computer Science from MIT where I also worked for MIT Information Systems.
