IBM's free Many Eyes website allows anyone to easily upload, visualize, and discuss data. However, all data and visualizations in Many Eyes are public, which makes the website unsuitable for confidential datasets.

I reused many of the visualization components from Many Eyes to create Many Eyes Workbench, a desktop application that allows our team to quickly create visualizations from confidential client datasets. Many Eyes Workbench also includes a number of features that are not available in the original Many Eyes website, such as the ability to import and export directly from Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.org formats.

The tool has been made freely available within IBM where it has been used by hundreds of employees.
