Intelligent Media Exchange, or IMX, was an advanced videoconferencing and synchronous collaboration system. It was both a platform for exploring our research ideas and a deployed product in daily use within Seiko-Epson. In addition to high quality video and audio over low-bandwidth links, IMX supported features such as chat, file sharing, collaborative whiteboards, and application sharing.
I primarily worked on the IMX Windows client, a very large multi-threaded C++ application. The client showcased video processing technologies developed in cooperation with ERD's algorithms groups and numerous innovative user interface features.
